About the Teacher

Hello!  This is my first year at Franklin Middle School and my fifth year teaching.  I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended St. Columban for grade school and Mount Notre Dame for high school.  For college, I went to Saint Louis University where I graduated with a degree in elementary education.  After I graduated early in December, I co-taught eighth grade reading/language arts with the current Missouri Teacher of the Year at Sperreng Middle School in St. Louis.  Then, I taught first and second grade in a multiage classroom for one year at Holy Trinity, a Catholic school in downtown St. Louis.  My last two years of teaching I returned to Sperreng to teach sixth grade reading/language arts.  Last year my family moved to Champaign so I could attend school full time to obtain my Master’s degree from University of Illinois.  I graduated last summer with a degree in Curriculum & Instruction and endorsements in reading and middle school education.  I am very excited to be working at Franklin Middle School this year!
